To many, Arunachal may be synonymous to Tawang or Itanagar or say Ziro but these are just part of the experience. Go beyond these places and you'll find Arunachal Pradesh, hidden to the world outside, a treasure-trove of virgin natural beauty to be explored, a storehouse of exotic flora and fauna – all safely tucked under serene and pristine comfort of Nature.
Mechuka,West Siang District
One among those many incredible places is the Mechuka Valley in West Siang District. It is a small town (sub-divisional headquarter) located in a picturesque valley near the Indo-Tibet border. During winters, one can get great views of the snow-clad mountains and snow fall. Mechuka is gradually becoming a popular tourist destination in Arunachal Pradesh due to its scenic beauty, exotic tribes, gentle hills and snow-capped mountains and River Siyom (locally known as Yargyap Chu). The major tourist attraction here is a 400-year-old Buddhist Monastery, which is located at a hilltop in the western most part of Mechuka.
